It is true that some people you meet, have a long and lasting effect on your life. This I will say of John in regards to my motorcycling. I met John in Kalgoorlie, and signed up for some lessons. Johns excellent instructing technique and passion for motorcycling make his courses a very unique, valuable and an unforgettable experience. Having good instruction in motorcycling riding, fast - tracks the forming of life saving habits.....John does that, I still hear his voice telling me to keep my head up!

John Green has a gift for instructing. He is passionate about motorbikes, safety and fun. I have always been in awe of John’s passion and knowledge of motorcycle riding. Ive referred many other friends over the last 12 years to John who have also been impressed with his tuition. I trust John implicitly when it comes to motorcycles and have been heard to say that I would only get on the back of a bike with three people… my Dad, my partner, and John Green! Twelve years ago my partner first went to John, after he had been riding for many years, to get his big bike license with the attitude “I know it all – I am already riding a big bike on the road proficiently”. He came away with a completely different attitude and realized there is a big difference between teaching yourself bad habits, and learning and practicing correct techniques that have the purpose of keeping you safe. After watching that transformation, I decided to get my 250 licence through John, and both my partner and I attended various track days under John’s instruction. John Green has a clear advantage over other instructors, due to his ability to help you overcome mental hurdles and limiting beliefs such as “I can’t ride that bike - it’s too big!!!” or “I would be too scared to ever ride again!” He will help you to find your confidence and believe in yourself, and have pride in your ability. John, for these gifts and for the smile I now wear on my face when I am riding my bike, I thank you! I have also seen John change peoples’ attitudes into one that will keep them alive longer. The attitude that “It’s everyone else on the road that makes riding dangerous” into, “There are things I can do to minimize the impact of other drivers decisions on my riding”. I have seen riders who have the attitude that they know it all take a reflective look and realize that there is always more to learn. I have lost friends and family on bikes who have not taken instruction, and thus I have a natural fear of riding on the road. I can proudly say that I am about to upgrade to my open class motorcycle licence and I would not entrust my life in anyone else, to help me attain this goal.

John is a great bloke and a great teacher. His positive feedback, regardless of the situation, put me at ease throughout my training. The relaxation techniques he helped me learn, allowed me to overcome my fears, especially for my assessment. The bikes he uses, (I rode the VTR1000F to upgrade my licence on), and the technology he includes in his instruction, like the bluetooth intercom/headsets, make the whole process so easy. Cheers John, and thanks again! Richard - aka The Doctor

John is a very excellent instructor that is extremely passionate about bikes and the safety of those who ride them. Not just an instructor that will teach you how to ride the bike, but will also teach you about rider safety and how to protect yourself in dangerous situations, and more importantly to prevent them. From the time that I had with John I gained a lot more confidence and control when on my bike (Especially cornering and getting the hang of them touchy brakes :-D.) A lesson with John would be the best investment for protecting yourself and the bike you ride. John comes highly recommended by me he isn’t just a good instructor, but a great bloke as well.

Six years ago I used to look with great wonder at people on motorcycles, sailing past me and wish that I could be one of them. It seemed like a lot of fun but I didn’t believe I would ever be able to ride such exciting things. I was a 48 year old female, who had had almost nothing to do with these wild machines since my youth, when I had been a pillion passenger. I was also quite terrified at the prospect of riding one myself! With some persuasion from my husband, who was a passionate rider, I took lessons with John Green, a reputedly very skilled instructor in Kalgoorlie at the time. As a result of his patience, persistence, thoroughness, vigilance and encouragement I passed both motorcycle tests. Since then, I have had the time of my life, but most importantly it’s been a safe time. John instills life saving skills into his students. I remind myself of many of them every time I get on the bike. He has made dreams come true for me and I can confidently say he can do the same for anyone who wants to do something they believe they can’t!

Learning to ride a motorbike & drive a car and with John Green was an exciting, inspiring and fun journey from start to finish. Not only were there a lot of laughs and memorable, hilarious moments, but there were also a lot of important skills, discipline and knowledge passed on for a safe trip on today’s often dangerous roads. I had a good feeling about learning to drive with Johnny from day one, and his expertise, experience and professionalism left a lasting impression. Learning to drive and or ride isn’t easy for everyone, and no matter how little of a natural you are, Johnny will get you through! A perfect example would be my mum, who also had riding lessons with Johnny at the age of 48, and although she certainly wasn’t the most coordinated or confident person on a motorbike to start with, after a lot of hard work and John Green by her side, she’s a most competent motorcyclist today. No matter where the weakness lies, there’s a solution in Johnny’s bag of tricks for each one. I am most certain this excellent instructor could get ANYONE through any test and make learning to ride/drive an unforgettable experience. I’m happy to have not only gained so many driving/riding skills and confidence from my lessons with Johnny (including 100% on my practical motorbike test), but I’ve also made a great friend.

When I first started of thinking about learning to ride a motorbike, I looked for riding schools on the internet. I needed to find one fast – one to get me through the course and be assessed within 2 weeks! I’d had my learners permit for 2+ years, so I was ready to go! However, I had hardly ever sat on a motorbike before, except a scooter! So I went and got some quotes and was surprised how much I had to invest! I didnt have much of a choice, as I only had two weeks due to upcoming surgery. I could only do lessons before or after work and John was extremely flexible with his times. From early morning lessons, to lessons well into the night I made huge progress in such a short amount of time - thanks John. I should point out that John was the most expensive as well. However, I chose to do a “package deal” and was surprised at how cheap my tuition ended up costing. The hours John and I put into my training were enormous, but John’s emphasis is on smooth safe operation of the bike. This allows you to ride confidently and safely instantly. Rather than just getting you through the test, the level of bike control achieved by John’s teaching methods takes you through the test with consumate ease. So I guess it is up to you. Do you want to learn to ride your bike like you own it and stay alive, or “just pass the test” I am convinced It has been money well spent & that I made the right choice doing the lessons with John and Global Motorcycle Skills. A very thorough and structured learning process starts with learning to handle the bike in basic skills low speed manoeuvres, to being gradually introduced to traffic. Every traffic situation was encountered under John’s guidance, from the Perth CBD to a group ride through the Perth Hills. Thank you John. I hope we can catch up for a ride soon! John Green: How do you begin to acknowledge a man whom has participated and been of the best possible assistance in the realization of a lifelong dream. As a mature rider that hasn’t ridden for a considerable amount of years, John was recommended to help reawaken dormant skills and reaffirm the confidence necessary to handle my big powerful machine. John never faltered with his encouragement and positive “you can do it” attitude, even though there were times when self doubt crept in. His life skills are passed to his students without hesitation. As a student of John’s, one does not have any occasion not to believe in oneself as John is there instantly with positive encouragement, should a student falter. John is a hard taskmaster, but the end results of his tuition speak for themselves. I personally see the carnage caused by inexperienced overconfident riders and I believe that John is and will continue to be a major contributor to riders safety by encouraging all his students to ride with confidence and the correct accessories. I had never met anyone with as much passion as I have relating to motorcycles until I met John, he is a legend. Carol 20.12.11

Learning to ride a bike the correct way. Thanks John for all the pointers! The first time I contacted John, I thought we were going to have some issues… However, I decided to give this bloke a go and see what all the fuss was about – and I’m glad I did! A little bit about me… I have been around bikes and the bike industry all my life but I had never ridden a big bike on the road. I knew the theory, but putting that into practice is another thing altogether! John has been a very patient instructor. He takes time to learn about his student and apply theory at their level. In the beginning I was only concerned about getting my licence, but John has taught me much more than that. He’s taught me how to ride defensively, safely and most importantly, to have fun on my bike like I never thought possible! For any new rider wanting to learn, or any experienced rider wanting a refresher, I would not recommend anyone else. He will teach you the fundamentals and then put you through your paces in real life scenarios such as night riding lessons & group riding lessons. You will sit in a class room situation and talk, you will be debriefed over lunch and you will always have your views listened to. I tried other riding schools but found that having different instructors turn up each time who all have slightly different opinions, made the whole process inconsistent & my progress slow. When I look at other riders now, I can see how these individuals can get into trouble with the bad habits they display. I would have had those bad habits as well.. but not now. Hence, I thought I knew a few things about riding
