John Green
General Manager / Instructor / Trainer / Coach / NLP Master Practioner / Motorcyclist

Hello, my name is John Green and I train for Global Motorcycle Skills, and I am a passionate motorcyclist. I first threw my leg over a motorcycle, at the tender age of 10 and was hooked immediately! This was the scariest most exciting thing I had ever done! Then, when I was 17 and ready to join the ranks of road going motorcyclists, I was given an ultimatum – do a rider training course, or move out of home! Harsh? No, not at all. Coming from a loving family, 4 of whom were trained nurses and one of them being my mum, the last thing that any of them ever wanted to see, was me arriving at their place of work in an ambulance – or worse! So I did the course, and was blown away by what I didn’t know! The greatest gift I’ve ever been given, was my place in that first course!

A dozen years later, and a handful of courses, under the tutelage of some of Australia’s best instructors including Withers, Schuberg and Hatton, to name a few, and finally I made the decision to step up, and become an instructor. That was 16 years ago, and I haven’t looked back.

Experienced but untrained bike riders would be surprised to find how many bad habits they have developed over their years of riding.

Motorcycling is by far and above, the most dangerous form of transport on the planet. But it most certainly does not have to be! However, ask the average experienced, yet untrained motorcyclist how many “scares” a week they get, and they will tell you just how “scary” riding a motorcycle really is! Somehow, someway, they have managed to stay alive on two wheels for however long, with the basic fundamental skills of riding a motorcycle, but fraught with bad habits, and what’s even deadlier, bad attitudes. Motorcycling is a learnt skill. It’s not gender specific, or particularly conducive to any demographic. It’s 100% technique and 100% attitude, that’ll get you from point A to Point B, safely every time

What I’m very proud of is that I have never lost a student to a crash! I’ve helped every demographic to feel what it feels like to ride their bike like they own it. I’ve even helped a friend win a state superbike championship. My business motto since becoming an instructor has been, “love your bike, know your limits & ride to the conditions”. With that mindset, can you honestly ever foresee trouble as a motorcyclist? No, that’s right, you can’t. You’ll always be in the right place, at the right time, with the right mindset.

In 2009, I attended courses that accredited me as a Life Coach. It taught me the techniques of accelerated learning, of how to help people overcome fears and limiting decisions, and how to immerse students in the mindsets and attitudes of a safe defensive motorcyclist. I am the first and only motorcycle riding instructor / NLP master practicioner in the southern hemisphere.
